Cook Southland Funeral Chapel - Darroch(2005)

We are saddened to announce the death of Doris Marie Darroch, beloved daughter of Elaine and Jim Darroch, who passed away at the Alfred Egan Home in Bow Island on Saturday June 18, 2005, at the age of 41 years. Doris passed away peacefully in her apartment while in the company of staff members who cared for her after recent health problems. She was born in Calgary on September 4, 1963, and lived at home with her loving parents before moving into the Baker Center in Calgary. In May of 1985, Doris moved into the Alfred Egan Home in Bow Island where she resided for the remainder of her life. Doris was loved by all that had the chance to meet her. She loved music, especially classical music, and she was admired for her youthful beauty, blue eyes and porcelain skin. Doris was quick to smile and when she laughed her whole body shook. She was content in her surroundings and loved to be cuddled. Along with her parents Elaine and Jim of Kelowna, B.C., Doris leaves to cherish her memory one sister, Shauna (Les) Schlahs and their children Levi and Macayla of Sylvan Lake, AB.; one brother, Darcy Darroch of Calgary, AB.; two uncles, Wayne (Fran) Koepke, Lloyd (Wilda) Koepke, as well as one aunt, Avril Darroch. Doris was predeceased by her grandparents as well as one uncle, Ken, and one aunt, Mabel. She will be dearly missed by her family and all those who knew her and worked with her over the years. The Funeral Service was held at St. Andrew's United Church, 139 - 2 Ave. West, Bow Island on Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Sandra McMillan officiating. Interment will follow at a later date. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Alfred Egan Home Special Purposes Fund at Bag 3990, Bow Island, Alberta T0K 0G0.
