Firmin Philemon (Phil) DeLeenheer, beloved husband of Mrs. Hilda DeLeenheer of Bow Island, passed away at the Bow Island Health Centre on Friday, May 2, 2008, at the age of 87 years. Along with his loving wife, Phil leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Randy (Bernice) DeLeenheer and Ken (Shelley) DeLeenheer; five grandchildren, Paula Malz, Randi Deleenheer, Kenny DeLeenheer Jr., Vanessa Hamilton and Alex Watt; eight great-grandchildren, Hayden Malz, Marina Malz, Austin Hamilton, Carson Hamilton, Sydney Hamilton, Kyla Watt, Emily Watt and Logan Watt. He was predeceased by his parents, Phil and Anna DeLeenheer, as well as four brothers and three sisters. Phil was born on August 30, 1920. He was raised and educated in Chase, BC. On July 24, 1949, he married the then Hilda Barnes in Gibsons Landing, BC. Phil was a past member of the Masonic Lodge (Mt. Elphinstone, BC.) as well as the Old Time Fiddlers of Williams Lake, BC. Along with fiddling and dancing to old time music, Phil enjoyed time spent camping and hunting. He looked forward to all family gatherings and will forever be remembered as a great husband, father, grandfather and friend. A come and go celebration of Phil's life will be held downstairs at the Royal Canadian Legion in Williams Lake, BC., on Saturday, June 7, 2008, between 1:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the charity of one's choice.
