Mrs. Joan A. Dongworth of Medicine Hat, silently passed away while surrounded by her family at the Peter Lougheed Centre in Calgary on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at the age of 79 years. Joan was born in Cadillac, Saskatchewan on July 3, 1929, a daughter to proud parents, Albert and Eleanor Webster. Although she was born and raised in various communities in Saskatchewan, she became a fan of watching Edmonton Eskimos football and Edmonton Oilers hockey. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was good with a needle and thread sewing and making quilts. Throughout her lifetime she achieved many milestones and one in particular was the celebration of her 60th birthday. Joan's memory will be cherished in the hearts of her children including sons, Ken Dongworth of Edmonton and Rob Dongworth (Michelle Cismas) of Medicine Hat; a daughter, Cindy (Ken) Laschowski of Two Hill; eight grandchildren, Casey Dongworth, Nicole Dongworth (Chris), Douglas Laschowski, Sarah (Lyle) MacDonald, Chelsea (Travis) Stafford, Daniel Benedict, Jeffrey Laschowski and Jordan Vasquez; three great-grandchildren, Kaine and Kalli Stafford and Meredith MacDonald; four sisters, Doreen Butz, Zena Robinson, Rose (Frank) Lang and Elsie (George) Roszell; one brother, Albert (Judy) Webster as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She loved her pet dogs, Max and Squirt. She was predeceased by a son, Randy Dongworth; her parents, Eleanor and Albert Webster; brothers, Robert (Bob), MacDonald (Mac) and James (Jim) Webster and the father of her children. A Celebration of Joan's life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13th Street S.W., on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Joan's name may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 102 Crestwood Square One, 1865 Dunmore Road S.E., Medicine Hat, AB., T1A 1Z8

I wonder many times what has become of my family that I never got to know well. I knew Randy and he and I got on well. I am truly sorry to hear that Joan has already Past. And I do not even know if this will get to you, the other family. I do hope so. I knew Cindy too but only briefly when we were very young. Fare thee well all my relations
