Mrs. Maudie Dobson of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of Mr. Allan Dobson, passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at the age of 72 years. Her memory will be cherished her husband Al and a son, Brian (Jaquie Brandt); two brothers, Bob (Edith) Kerr and Alfred (Elsie) Kerr; two sisters, Elsie (Barry) Rose and Dorothy (Elwood) Hepper as well as numerous nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts. She was predeceased by her parents, Alfred & Tina Kerr and a sister, Jean French. Maudie was born into this world on August 15, 1936 near Melfort, Saskatchewan, a daughter to Alfred and Tina Kerr. On January 28, 1957, she married Al Dobson. Maudie passed just one day before they would have celebrated 52 years of marriage. During their marriage they settled in various communities including Regina, Yorkton, St. Albert, Vernon and most recently Medicine Hat where they have made their home since 2000. For many years she worked as a cashier at a bowling alley which was convenient due to the fact she enjoyed to bowl. In her younger years she could be found at her favorite camping spot. She was the designated driver when it came to driving the boat while fishing and made sure to find where the fish were. Maudie liked the company of friends and family alike and had lots of fun in their company. In celebration of Maudie's life, a come and go reception will be held at the Fieldhouse (Meadowlark Village Clubhouse) 1600 Strachan Road S.E., Medicine Hat on Friday, January 30, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Maudie's name may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 102 Crestwood Square One, 1865 Dunmore Road S.E. Medicine Hat, Alberta T1A 1Z8.
