With heavy hearts the family of Dwayne Desjarlais, beloved husband of Brenda Desjarlais, announce his sudden passing on Friday, July 30, 2010 at the age of 53 years. Dwayne was born in Medicine Hat on January 20, 1957, a son to proud parents, Thomas and Mary Desjarlais. He received his schooling with the Catholic School system, graduating from McCoy High School. After high school, he gained employment in the oil field and remained as a dedicated employee until the time of his passing. His favorite time of year was spring. Spring meant it was time to “set sail” and spend time with Brenda cruising the oceans. It was a passion he had and something he looked forward to every year. His family was very important to him and made sure quality time was spent with them. He loved his family and accepted his son-in-law and daughter-in-law as his own. Dwayne had a infectious laugh and great smile that will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His memory will be cherished by his wife, Brenda; daughter, Tara (Kevin) Cole and their daughter, Madison; son, Tom (Carly) Desjarlais and their children, Cameron and Thomas Jacob. He is also survived by Brenda’s brothers and sisters and their families as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Mary; a brother, Joseph and sister, Virginia. Relatives and friends are invited for Prayers at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 238 - 2 Avenue N.E., ?Medicine Hat on Friday, August 6, 2010, at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Father Long Vu celebrant. Private interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Dwayne’s name may be made directly to the SPCA, 55 Southwest Drive S.W., Medicine Hat, Alberta T1A 8E8.
