Obituary - Robert Desjarlais

Mr. Robert Joseph (Bob) Desjarlais was born in Indian Head, SK. on August 2, 1931, and passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Sunday, February 27, 2011, with his beloved family at his side. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife (Dove) of 56 years, Juanita and children, Michelle (Rick) Pinder; Marcel (Rene); Simone (Norton) Rose; Falonne (Rolfe) Mueller and Cory; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and his special furry friend, Fonzy. He is also survived by one brother, Eric, and four sisters-in-law, Leona, Fay, Velma and Olive; brother-in-law, Hugh as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was born the youngest of fourteen and moved to Bowell, AB. when he was 21. This is where he met and later married Juanita Pancoast. He worked for the CPR for thirty years before retiring to Redcliff where he enjoyed music, hockey, camping, biking and walking as well as visiting his hometown of Fort Qu’Appelle. He was an avid Red Wings fan, but his main focus and most enjoyment came from time spent with family and his cat. Family and friends will forever remember Bob for his positive approach to life, and his strong, unwavering faith. Vigil Prayers will be recited at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at 7:00 P.M. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 238 - 2 Avenue N.E., Medicine Hat on Thursday, March 3, 2011, at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Father Francis Tran celebrant. Private Interment will follow at the Redcliff Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 124, 430 - 6 Avenue S.E.,
