With our deepest sorrow, we announce the passing of Jerrine on Saturday, December 17, 2005, with her husband and family by her side, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Jerri (Jerrine) will be sadly missed by her devoted husband and best friend, Roy Casat; her children, Sheryl Middleton and Norman Noviski, Robert (Vanessa) Middleton, Cindy Middleton and their father A.J.B. Middleton; step-children, Ron (Donna Vennard) Casat, Merrena (Dan) Thompson, Laurie (Wes Paradis) Casat, as well as nineteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Bob (Maxine) McWilliams. She was predeceased by her parents, Esther and Robert McWilliams and her daughter, Sheena Middleton. Jerri was born in Medicine Hat and lived a very full active life. She loved music, sports, travel, cooking and especially family get-togethers. She worked hard in her family and husband's business ventures. Her family was very proud of her accomplishments. She and her mother Esther encouraged the tradition of family gatherings and teas, no one ever felt left out. Most will remember her for her extraordinary cooking and baking skills; she passed her talents and favorite recipes on to her daughters. Jerri made everyone she encountered feel special and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. A sincere thank you to Dr. Foley and the staff at the Cancer Clinic and Dr. Wardell and staff who cared for her in the Palliative Care Unit at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. The Funeral Service will be held at Fifth Avenue Memorial United Church, 476 - 4 Street S.E., Medicine Hat on Thursday, December 22, 2005, at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Jim Hillson officiating. Private Interment will follow. As an expression of sympathy, those wishing to remember Jerri Casat may do so with a gift to the Medicine Hat Palliative Care Society, 666 - 5 Street S.W., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 4H6, or to the charity of one's choice.
