Nicholas Charnetski, beloved husband of 55 years to Elsie, passed away on Monday, October 8, 2007, at the age of 77 years. Nicholas also leaves to cherish his memory one son, James (Melonie) and their children Jefferey and Chris; son-in-law, Craig Bews and his children Kristin, Darren and Jinnian; one sister, Margaret Charnetski of Edmonton; brother-in-law, Larry Ewanyshyn (Marie) of Saskatoon, SK., as well as several nieces and nephews. Nicholas was predeceased by one daughter, Connie Bews, and two sisters, Lillian Bohonis and Vera Charnetski. Nicholas was born at Prelate, SK., on December 19, 1929, the only son of Fred and Alexandra Charnetski. Nicholas and Elsie married at Saskatoon in 1952, and took up farming in Prelate until retiring to Medicine Hat in April of 2002. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. Nicholas was very thankful for the wonderful care he received from nurses and staff while on dialysis. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street S.W., on Thursday, October 11, 2007, between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. The Funeral Service will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel on Friday, October 12, 2007, at 10:00 A.M. with Civil Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating. Interment to follow at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Medicine Hat Chapter, P.O. Box 20143, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 8M4.
