Mr. Jody Kim Bartlett, formerly of Medicine Hat, passed away in Calgary on Tuesday, February 20, 2007, at the age of 35 years. Left to cherish Jody's memory are his father, Roy Bartlett; sister, Kelly (Karl) Sivertsen and their children Brant and Kaysha, all of Medicine Hat, as well as his special friend, Laurae Austin of Calgary. Jody was predeceased by his mother, Sharon Bartlett; brother, Rudy Bartlett; maternal grandmother, Lillian Gonda and his paternal grandparents, Sid and Martha Bartlett. Jody was born and raised in Medicine Hat and graduated from Medicine Hat High School. He was a dedicated employee of GoodYear in Medicine Hat for many years until recently moving to Calgary to further his career as an Apprentice Welder with his good friends at Surefire Industries. Jody was an outgoing, caring and friendly individual. He enjoyed life to the fullest, and was always there to give a helping hand. His friends knew him as 'Superman'. Jody was an avid sportsman and loved hunting, fishing, scuba diving, quadding, video games, movies and traveling. He had just traveled to the Dominican Republic with his dear friend Laurae. Jody loved to spend time with his family and the family 'Blues Weekend' and Christmas were his favorites. He will be missed by his family, friends and all who knew him, and will be remembered for his sense of humor. The Funeral Service will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Monday, February 26, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. with Civil Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the charity of one's choice.
