Martha Ellen Wilson
1923 - 2010


Martha Ellen Wilson (nee McCrystal), the loving wife of the late Gordon Wilson, passed away at the Milk River Health Centre in Milk River, AB., on Saturday, August 28, 2010, at the age of 87 years. Martha is survived by her children: Carol (Don) Konchuk of Radisson, SK., Lyle (Marilyn) of Regina, SK., Kip (Judy) of Medicine Hat, AB. and Colleen (Leslie) Smith of Milk River, AB.; grandchildren, Steven (Fiancé Jennifer) and Matthew (Sedina) Konchuk, Mark Wilson and Heather Wilson and Kimberley (Moricio) Jimenez, Calvin (Christine) Wilson and Julie Wilson; step-grandchildren, Mike, Michelle and Janice, Derek (Jolene) Smith, Angela (Mitchell) Carter, Stacy (Travis) Schnarr; eleven great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren; sisters, Irene Pedersen and Annie Hargrove from BC. as well as sister-in-law, Lorraine McCrystal of Milestone, SK. Martha was predeceased by her husband, Gordon Wilson, in November of 2002; her parents, Ellen and Ronald McCrystal; sisters, Theresa Debert and Agnes Gies; brothers, Steven, Armie, Charlie and Desie. Martha was born on May 6, 1923, on the farm at Maxstone, SK. She married Gordon Wilson on November 10, 1945. She became a farmer’s wife, living and raising their family near Vantage and Congress, SK. In 1985, Martha and Gordon moved into Assiniboia, SK. After the passing of Gordon, Martha moved into the Milk River Health Centre where she embraced the staff as her extended family. Most of all, Martha was a loving and caring Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Sister and Friend. She will be missed immensely as she touched the hearts of so many people. A Celebration of Martha’s life will be held at the Assiniboia United Church in Assiniboia, SK., on Saturday, September 11, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. with interment following in the Assiniboia Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in memory of Martha may be made to the Milk River Auxiliary Hospital, Box 20, Milk River, Alberta, T0K 1M0.
