Cook Southland Funeral Chapel - Bishop(2025)

September 28, 1948 ~ March 14, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Jerry Ronald Bishop on March 14, 2025, at the age of 76 years, with his family by his side. Jerry was born in Medicine Hat and spent his childhood in Etzikom. He completed High School in Medicine Hat and then pursued a successful career, spanning fifty years in Industrial Sales and Management. He was deeply dedicated to community service, including thirty years as a member of the Lions Club of Medicine Hat (President and Zone Chairman), and a member of the Medicine Hat Hockey Hounds and Figure Skating Club. Jerry will be remembered for his quick wit and dry sense of humour and his deep love for his dogs (Bailey and LJ). Jerry enjoyed golfing, taking vacations with his family, and travelling, including to Asia, South America and Europe.

Left to cherish his memory are his former spouse, Pam; his daughters, Laura-Lee, Jo-Anne (Bart) and Jen (Murray) and his grandchildren, Connor, Landon, Kenzie, Kolby, Sebastiaan and Sandrine.

Jerry was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Helen Bishop and his brother, Robbie.

At Jerry’s request, a small celebration of life will be held at a later date with immediate family.

The family wishes to send a heartfelt thank you to the staff at River Ridge Seniors Village for their care and compassion they provided to Jerry.

Many happy memories of high school antics with Jerry and our enthusiastic gang. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him and enjoyed his friendship. Safe home, Jerry.

Sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. Our condolences to you and your families. I was pretty young at the time, but remember my parents spending time playing cards with Jerry's folks in Etzikom. It was nice to see him and visit when I came to Medicine Hat to buy welding gas. I still have a train set that Jerry and Robbie gave my brother and I. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you at this time.
