It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Brian William Ashwick, beloved husband of Arlene Ashwick. Brian passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at the age of 80 years. Besides his loving wife, Arlene, his memory will be cherished by his daughters, Corina (Glen) Hogan and Brenda Ashwick along with their mother, Erika Anderson; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Emma, Joshua, Liam, Austin, Allysa and Brandon and one great-granddaughter, Faye; Arlene’s children, Corinna (Dennis) Brown, Clayton (Tammy) Ulrich and Cameron (Brittany) Ulrich; step-grandchildren, Nolan, Sydney, Taylor, Colton, Madison, Jordan, Tyler, Blayke and Alyson and lastly, his trusted companion, Trish Dog. Brian was born on July 18, 1943, in Medicine Hat a son to William and Cora Ashwick. Following a long career in advertising, marketing and display, Brian retired to a lifelong hobby and passion in repairing and revitalizing antique radios and oil lamp collecting. He had a keen interest in current affairs and spent much time watching and reading informative programs. Brian will be deeply missed by his family and friends. A Celebration of Brian’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street SW, Medicine Hat on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. David Carter officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial donations in Brian’s name may be made directly to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, 6007 - 1A Street SW, Calgary, Alberta, T2H 0G5.

I worked with Brenda a million years ago and i remember meeting Brian a few times.. I am so sorry to hear of his passing.. My thoughts are with all of you at this time

Saddened by Brian’s passing. A fascinating friend in high school with similar interests in radio, science fiction, rockets, and the like. He always had an adventure in mind which might lead to trouble. My hope is that his family and friends will remember him, as I will, for his active mind and love of science.
