The family of Mr. William “Bill” Alexander Holoboff regretfully announce his sudden and unexpected passing at his home in Medicine Hat on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at the age of 58 years. Bill was born in Calgary on August 3, 1964. He lived quite a gypsy life until eventually settling in Medicine Hat in 1993, where he finally felt at home. Bill was a natural born driver as he drove everything everywhere, and was able to operate any vehicle from a taxi, to a limo, to a semi. Bill’s character was that of a prankster, truther and a fighter for freedom. He enjoyed playing and writing music, watching the Calgary Flames, animals, thunderstorms, the great outdoors and fireworks. Many memories were made with Bill at family get togethers. He was very intent on learning everything he possibly could yet spent very little time in the organized educational system. Bill was a devout follower of the Islamic faith. He also had a special place in his heart for animals; having a cat, Mick, who stayed with him for at least 13 years. Left to cherish his memory are his children, William Holoboff Jr., Salina Holoboff, Virginia “Nya” Holoboff, Alexander Holoboff; grand daughter, Loveda; sisters, Brenda (Neil) Secrist, Janet (Antonio) Cronquist and Sheila Dyck; grandson, Swaylon Issaac; nieces, Billi Joe, Jessica, Amy, Alicia, Richelle, Madison and Nova; nephews, Neil, Ezal and Wes as 16 great nieces and nephews and one great great nephew. Bill’s memory will also be cherished by his dear friends, Corrine Korf, Terry Goodrich, MaryLou Mordecai, November Haywood, Gayle Thompson and Cindy Waddle. He was predeceased by his parents, William Charles and Shirley Ann Holoboff; brothers-in-law, Bruce Dyck and Lonny Berridge as well as his daughter, Jennifer Holoboff. Bill’s life will be celebrated with a tree planting in Bill’s honour at 945 Elm Street S.E., Medicine Hat, on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at 3:00 p.m, followed immediately by a memorial bon-fire which will be held at 826 B 3 Street S.E., Medicine Hat at 5:00p.m. The family has asked the people who will be in attendance, to bring their own lawn chairs.
