Roy Gale was a true gentleman and I am privileged to have known him. He was a true servant to the community; who can forget pancake mixing at Lions breakfast to marching proudly on Remembrance Day... this man was there. He was an inspiration to his family and his stories will live on with them. Rest In Peace my friend; duty done.

One of the best days of my life was lining up with antique cars and parading past Mr. Gale on his 100th birthday. No matter who or what, Hatters will always come together to show appreciation for others.
I am so sorry for the loss of a man with a very rich history.

What Roy Gale did with his life - including his service record - made him a hero.
The way he did it made him an inspiration to us all.
