Leo Crawford Nadeau, born and raised in Medicine Hat, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2021, at the age of 84, with his family by his side. His memory will be cherished by his loving wife, Marlene, of 57 years, and their three children and families: Brent Nadeau (Marianne Delaney), Payton and Matea; Jacquie Felesky (Blair), Trey and Spencer; Brad Nadeau and his children Dalyn, Elora and Sienna.
Leo’s memory will also live within the hearts of his siblings: Shirley (Sister Margaret Nadeau of Sisters of the Precious Blood), Ralph (Annette) Nadeau and Robert Nadeau. “Uncle Yoyo” will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Theophile (1991) and Ellen (1997).
Leo (also known as Dad, Papa, Grandpa and Yoyo) lived his life with family as his priority. His joy was spending time with his grandchildren, teaching them his favorite songs, riddles and life lessons. He was often heard saying “family is everything”.
Leo’s legacy will live on in all who were blessed to have known him; selfless without conjecture.
God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be,
So He put his arms around you,
And whispered “Come to Me”.
With tearful eyes we watched you,
And saw you pass away.
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.
A mass honouring Leo’s life will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, 238 – 2 Avenue N.E., Medicine Hat on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with Father Roque Pereira celebrant. Jackie and Blair,
We were saddened to hear about the passing of your dad. We never really knew your dad, but if he was anything like you, he must have been a great man. Hold onto those precious memories.
Love,
The Pahl’s
