Mr. Lloyd Elford Kobberstad of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of Pearl, passed away at the St. Joseph’s Home - Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat on Friday, October 5, 2018, at the age of 88 years. Along with Pearl, Lloyd is survived by two sons, Todd and Thane (Andrea); three granddaughters, Desiree, Reegan and Paige; two sisters, Evelyn Morrison and Lillian Hunt as well as numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Clifford, Alvin, Vernon, Roald, Victor and Gordon; one sister, Clare Rubin as well as a brother-in-law, Marvin Fandrick. Lloyd worked in the Oil Field for most of his life and developed a true love for watching rigs operate in the patch. He worked numerous locations throughout Alberta and also worked for a period of time in Australia as well as the Arctic Region. Lloyd then left the patch and together with Pearl, owned and operated various other businesses, allowing their family to spend more time together. Upon retiring, Lloyd enjoyed spending many hours on his scroll saw creating beautiful clocks. He will be dearly missed. A Graveside Celebration of Lloyd's life will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Medicine Hat on Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Shane Andrus officiating. A time of fellowship will take place thereafter in the Cook Southland Reception Facility. Those attending the Graveside Service should gather at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street S.W., on Saturday between 1:30 p.m. and 1:50 p.m. to join the procession to Graveside. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Lloyd may be made to the Margery E.
