Obituary - Meta Elliott

Meta Elliott

1919 - 2016

Cook Southland Funeral Chapel - Elliott(2016)
Mrs. Gertrude “Meta” Elliott passed away peacefully at the Good Samaritan Southridge Village on Thursday, November 3, 2016, at the age of 97 years. Meta was predeceased by her beloved husband, Harry, as well as her parents and siblings.
Meta was born in Birds Hill, Manitoba, and moved to Calgary in her early twenties, where she met Harry. Together they ran an upholstery business in Calgary for many years. Upon retirement, the couple moved to Sundre, Alberta. Meta will be fondly remembered for her profound sense of loyalty to her family and friends. She took great joy in entertaining and caring for others. As well, Aunt Meta loved to laugh, and had a great sense of humour. She also enjoyed the outdoors and watching sports.  Meta was very charitable, and was always willing to help out her community. She will be greatly missed.
Aunt Meta will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her nephew Bill Andrews of Birds Hill, nephew Jim (and Ellen) Andrews of Medicine Hat, niece Betty Aman of Medicine Hat, and niece Marilyn (and Dave) Olason of Scottsdale, AZ.  “What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.” – Helen Keller
Her life will be honoured and her memory cherished without the proceedings of a formal funeral.
