Obituary - Lyle Aleman

My heart goes out to Lyle's family. I had the pleasure of working with Lyle over the years. He has a great spirit, rest in peace Lyle.

It is with utter shock and dismay that we received the news about Lyle. Such a fine young gentleman in his prime of life taken from us precipitously leaves one at a loss for words. We knew Lyle in earlier days before his well-deserved appointment as GM at the Co-op. Without question an individual of utmost integrity, highly principled, who breathed passion and professionalism into everything he touched. His death will leave such a large void in the lives and activities of all who knew him. Our deepest sympathies to his wife and children now suffering the pain and anguish of losing their closest soul mate. We are thinking of you and wish you strength in coping with your intense loss. To the rest of Lyle's family and to his close friends, our sincere condolences. What a sad, sad day this must be for each and every one of you. To Lyle's many colleagues and acquaintances, we share your sense of loss and, like you, find ourselves asking how and why such a genuine soul in the prime of his life, is no longer a mere phone call away. It simply makes no sense. In this moment, we know only that all whose lives Lyle touched, to a person, take away fond memories. Of that we have NO doubt and for that we are thankful for the privilege of having known him.

Shocked by the sudden passing of Lyle. I wish the family all the strength in this difficult time. I know Lyle since he decided to invest in a new cucumber line. It was a very nice man and good to work with him.

I wanted to send my heartfelt condolences to Lyle's family and the family at Red Hat Co-op. I first met Lyle when I applied for a position in the Red Hat office back in 2003. He had a warm smile and made me feel at ease immediately. I was successful at acquiring the position and went on to spend the next three years working closely with Lyle in the office as an accountant. This was my first job as an accountant, and it was with Lyle's encouragement and belief in me that I continued to learn and grow at Red Hat until we moved away three years later. I went on to become a CMA, but both of the positions I have held since then I was selected for, in large part because of the work I had done at Red Hat with Lyle's guidance. I am truly grateful to Lyle for his positive attitude and open smile. When I think of him, it's his smile that I remember. I am so very, very sad thinking about all of his family and friends making their way in this world without him. I have lost touch with the Red Hat crew, but was just thinking last time I was in Medicine Hat that I should pop by and say hello. I sincerely wish that I had. My mom and dad will be attending Lyle's funeral to convey my condolences as I am unable to make the trip down to be there. Thinking of you all, Nicole Heinz (nee Wahl)

I was shocked to hear about the passing of Lyle. The first time I met Lyle was in 2009 at the Red Hat Co-op during a visit. Since then I met him a couple of times and he had a sincere approach in doing business. I respected him a lot. I wish all of you the strength to cope with the loss of Lyle.

I first met Lyle when I was the greenhouse specialist for the Ministry of Agriculture located in Brooks and was working to support the growers of the Red Hat Cooperative. I have always been impressed with Lyle's dedication to his work to advance and grow the business of the Red Hat Coop. He was easy to like, clearly a dedicated family man and will be sorely missed. I'm so sad to hear of your loss. It's unimaginable. Take as much time as you need to grieve and to heal. Anger and confusion and sorrow are okay. God is with you, even when you can't feel His presence. You are in my prayers, and in the prayers of many others.

We have had the wonderful pleasure of knowing and working with Lyle for many years now. He was a dedicated businessman who worked hard for his customers and his workers, his goal was promoting healthier eating for the people of Western Canada. We were saddened by this terrible news and immediately thought of his wonderful family, who although we never had the chance to meet, knew of them through Lyle's fond stories of how the girls were growing up fast.
