Jackie Aasman

1939 - 2013

Cook Southland Funeral Chapel - Aasman(2013)
Jackie "Bub" and "Oma" (nee Slofstra), went to be with the lord suddenly at home, December 1, 2013, at the age of 74 years. She leaves to cherish her memory,  her son Hank, daughter, Pat (John) Carpenter and son, Cal (Cheryl) Aasman and daughter-in-law, Jaylene Aasman all of Medicine Hat; grandchildren, Chantel Hallett (Mike Timchuk), Kristin (Dave) Schlemko, Josh Hallett (Kaylene Simpson), Chelbey Carpenter, Ryan Aasman, Logan Aasman, Jayna Aasman and Kayleigh Aasman;  great- grandchildren, Brooklyn Jacqueline Timchuk, Ava Kiss Schlemko and Taylor Arnell Hallett. Mom was predeceased by her husband, James (1993), sons, Tony (2008) and Randy (1972) and daughter, Nellie (2012). Mom was born in the Netherlands in 1939 and immigrated to Canada in 1952. Prior to her marriage in 1960, mom was employed at Taylor Brother's grocery store. The arrival of Tony in 1961 marked the beginning of 5 children in 5 years. After a 5 year break, Cal was born in 1971. Needless to say, mom dedicated her entire life to caring for Pops and the kids. Mom was a kind, compassionate  and loving lady who would shower her family with countless 'I Love You's.' A broken heart took our mother, but mom is now finally at peace with her precious husband and kids.   The Funeral Service will be held at the Christian Reformed Church, 300 Primrose Drive S.E., Medicine Hat on Thursday, December 5, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor George Koopmans officiating.  Private family interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery.

My world was always a happy place with your Mom around. Her heart & nature brought a smile and feeling of contentment when ever she was near. I'm sure the memories you sustain will not only just bring you a smile, albeit one from ear to ear in knowing who she was and how she cared. She was "MOM". May God Bless her family and in the way she blessed you. With deepest condolences Don XO
