Obituary - Erich Edelmann

Mr. Erich Otto Edelmann, beloved husband of Mrs. Frances Edelmann, passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at the age of 75 years. Erich was born in Germany on February 15, 1933. He came to Canada in 1956 first settling in Lethbridge before moving to Medicine Hat in 1960. Erich was employed in the construction industry. He started Precision Concrete in 1966 and successfully owned and operated the business for 38 years. Erich was a member of the Alberta Lighthorse as well as the Royal Canadian Legion for many years. He will be remembered for his love of animals as he liked to feed the birds and had a soft spot for all the neighborhood strays. He will be missed by his family and all the kids will miss the candy in his pockets he always had for them. Besides his wife Frances, he will be remembered by his children, Penny (Ernie) Arrenegado - Lacy; Eugene Edelmann - Bobi and Katie; Donald (Connie) Edelmann - Krista and Chance; and a sister, Erica Beck in Germany. Erich was predeceased by his parents; an infant son, Kevin Edelmann and a granddaughter, Leia Steele. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13th Street S.W., on Friday, December 12, 2008 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Erich's life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Loren Hosfield officiating. Columbarium placement will follow at Hillside Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Erich's name may be made directly to the Alberta Lung Association, P.O.
