1915 - 2004

Miss Elsa Maria Cantalini formerly of Medicine Hat, passed away in Calgary on Thursday, January 1, 2004. Elsa is the beloved, very special aunt of Debra Cantalini-Gallant (Ernie) of Medicine Hat. She is survived by one brother, Tony Cantalini of Palm Springs, California; nieces and nephews, Annamaria Cantalini and Gabriella Cantalini, Dr. Phillipo Moramarco, Dr. Enzo Moramarco and Dr. Franco Cantalini all of Italy. Elsa is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Gladys Cantalini-Urichuk (Nick) of Medicine Hat and Lisetta Cantalini of Italy; Leona Cantalini of Medicine Hat (the third wife of Mr. George Cantalini). She was predeceased by her parents, George and Onesta Cantalini; five brothers, Alf Cantalini, Joe Cantalini, Maurice Cantalini, Dr. Alfonso Cantalini and Dr. Ray Cantalini; one sister, Antonietta Moramacco; two sisters-in-law, Lilly Cantalini and Aldisia Cantalini. Elsa was a very compassionate person to all who knew her, especially to her family in times of need. Her family meant the world to her, and this was evident with each of her many trips to Italy. She also showed a deep concern for all her friends. She always had solutions to problems great and small, at any time, day or night. She was always there to reassure and give guidance. Elsa loved life and people. In her later years, Elsa looked forward to the many calls from Debra and Ernie, as well as their visits to Calgary. A highly respected business woman, Elsa worked as the accountant in the family hotel business for over forty years. After her retirement, she moved to Calgary where she resided until her passing. Her life evolved around her strong faith, and she was a devoted member of St. Mary's Cathedral in Calgary. She will be remembered for her gentle ways, warm smile and soft voice. Vigil Prayers will be recited at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Monday, January 5, 2004, at 8:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 238 - 2nd Avenue N.E., on Tuesday, January 6, 2004, at 10:30 A.M. Private Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Medicine Hat Cancer Clinic, 666 - 5th Street S.W., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 4H6, or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation Of Alberta, 124, 430 - 6 Avenue S.E., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 2S8.
