1942 - March 20, 2007 It is with great sadness and remorse that we announce the sudden passing of our husband, father, and grandfather, Donald William Cameron, on Tuesday, March 20th 2007 in Medicine Hat, Alberta, at the age of 65 years. Don was born on March 15th, 1942 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and was raised in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Christa, his son Neil (Corinna), grandsons Ian and Matthew; son Colin (Linda), grandsons Christopher and Quinn; his daughter Anne, grandchildren Andrew, Vincent, and Stephanie; his stepson, Tom Pentek (Roberta), granddaughter Haley and grandson Brandon; step-daughter, Tanya Groves (Ron), granddaughters Nicole, Brittany, Cassandra and Samantha, along with his first wife Audrey (Sherwood). Don was predeceased by his father, William (Bill), and his mother Doris. Don attended and graduated with honors from the University of Saskatchewan. He then began working in the retail industry, working for such companies as Zellers, Robinson & Little, Big 4 Sales / Stylerite, as well as the Army & Navy Dept. Store in Saskatoon. Don then decided to "retire" and go into business for himself along with his wife Christa, which became a dream of theirs, to open "Your Dollar Store with More" in Medicine Hat, AB. Family was extremely important to Don as he spent as much time as possible visiting with his family, his many grandchildren and friends. Along with Christa, he enjoyed life by traveling and seeing the world. They traveled to such places as Costa Rica, Morocco, Mexico, Dominican Republic and with every chance they got, they went across the border, down into the United States. Don still played his favorite sport of slo-pitch baseball with a league in Medicine Hat, and during the hockey season, he could normally be found in front of the TV bemoaning the fate of his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs. Don also gave his time to the Shriners when he lived in Saskatoon, and when he moved to Medicine Hat he then became an active member of the Medicine Hat Lodge No.2. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Sunday, March 25, 2007, between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. The Funeral Service will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel on Monday, March 26, 2007, at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Loren Hosfield officiating. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 124, 430 - 6 Avenue S.E., Medicine Hat, AB., T1A 2S8.
