Janet Bali

1943 - 2004

Mrs. Janet Bali, beloved wife of Mr. Mike Bali, passed away peacefully at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at the age of 60 years. Janet was born on September 5, 1943 in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, one of seven children born to Henry and Emma Sandau. She was raised in Maple Creek where she attended and graduated from High School. Janet moved to Calgary where she gained employment as a secretary for a Canadian grain company. On April 7, 1967, she married Mike Bali at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. Other than Calgary, Janet and Mike resided in Scandia, Brooks and a short while ago they moved to Medicine Hat. Janet was an "artsy' person who loved to do crafts, knitting, crocheting and reading books... especially romance novels. She will be dearly missed as she was the pillar of support for her family. Her grandchildren, she adored and held a special place in her heart for them. Besides her husband Mike, she will be forever cherished by her children, Karen (Shawn), Steven (Jessica) and their children, Breanne and Landon; Ilona (Brad) and their children, Broden, Jordan and Nicole; her mother, Emma Sandau; five brothers and one sister, William (Elaine), Gerald (Yvonne), Allan (Janet), Donald (Lori), Gayle and Garth as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Janet was predeceased by her father, Henry Sandau. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 - 13th Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, August 6, 2004 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and again on Saturday, August 7, 2004 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 515 Sprague Way S.E., Medicine Hat on Saturday, August 7, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Carl Bogda officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Janet's name may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 102 - 1865 Dunmore Road S.E., Medicine Hat, Alberta T1A 9Z9.
