While at McCoy he was a member of the McCoy Colts football team. Doug also attended St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church and was involved in their search programs. Doug spent free time hunting and fishing with his brothers, cousins, numerous friends as awell as his special papa, Clem. He loved the outdoors and had great respect for nature. Doug valued any time spent with family. The best time of his life was the trip to Dominican Republic for his brother Sheldon’s wedding. He treasured the moments with family and claimed his nieces as the pride and joys of his life. They were the highlight of his day! He was also very fond of his faithful and protective black lab companion, Teshia. She passed just a month ago. In May of 1995, Doug’s life changed forever due to an accident that happened shortly after his sixteenth birthday. The accident claimed his mobility and left him a quadraplegic.
